Fill your holidays with nostalgia and this sign full of well-loved playthings.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Transfer the pattern to the wood board using a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers. Cut out the wood, according to the template provided. Transfer the design.
    2. For the sign, basecoat in a 1:1 Khaki Tan and Light Cinnamon mix. Create a checkered border by applying Russet to the dark squares in final image. Using a #2 liner brush, apply Lamp Black to the lettering. Paint the edge of the sign in Russet.
    3. Basecoat the heart in Rookwood Red; shade with Antique Maroon.
    4. For Raggedy Ann, paint the face and hand in Flesh Tone and shade with Light Cinnamon. Dry-brush the cheeks in Boysenberry Pink and add a dot of White Wash. Paint the sleeves in Buttermilk and shade with Light Cinnamon. Using a liner brush, paint the stripes in Deep Burgundy. Basecoat the dress Williamsburg Blue and shade with Deep Midnight Blue. The stitching is in White Wash. Paint the shoes Lamp Black and highlight in White Wash. Paint the nose Deep Burgundy.
    5. For the blocks, basecoat block C Antique White and block A, Warm White. Base block C's border and lettering in True Ochre; shade with Light Cinnamon. Paint block A's border and lettering in Williamsburg Blue; shade with Deep Midnight Blue. Paint the top of the block in Hauser Medium Green and shade with Light Cinnamon to make them appear old and worn.
    6. Paint the top of the drum Antique White and shade with Light Cinnamon. Paint the band around the top and bottom with Mississippi Mud and shade with Light Cinnamon. Paint the middle of the drum with Burgundy Wine and shade with Antique Maroon. Paint the cord in Lamp Black and the brad in Yellow Ochre.
    7. Baseboat the entire bear Light Cinnamon and shade with Dark Chocolate. In the snout area, basecoat in Toffee and shade with Light Cinnamon. Dry-brush the cheeks in Boysenberry Pink with dots of White Wash. Paint nose and eyes in Lamp Black.
    8. Apply a basecoat of Deep Burgundy to the bear's hat. Shade with Antique Maroon and highlight with White Wash. For the fur area, apply Dimensional Effects with a palette knife.
    9. Apply Antique White as a basecoat to the snowman and shade with Light Cinnamon. Paint the eyes, mouth, buttons, hat, and brim in Lamp Black. Use Boysenberry Pink to dry-brush the cheeks with a dot of White Wash. Paint the nose in Burnt Orange. Basecoat the hatband in True Ochre and shade with Light Cinnamon. Paint the stripes on the hat and mittens in Jade Green, shading with Evergreen. The snowflakes on the mittens are White Wash. Highlight the hat in White Wash.
    10. Add line work using a black permanent marker. Antique the piece with Oak Gel Stains and spray Americana Matte Spray Finish according to label directions.
    11. Drill the holes indicated on the pattern. Add a sawtooth hanger to the back of the bear. Using wire and cutters, wire the pieces together according to the design.
    12. Glue the yarn to Raggedy Ann's head and add a bow. Glue a small piece of lace to her neck with a hot glue gun.
    13. Cut cardstock to the desired size of the letter in the bear's hand. Write a message with the permanent marker. Glue the note behind the bear's arm as desired. Wire the jingle bell to the end of Santa's head and tie with a raffia bow. Add a bow to the side of the bear's neck.
    14. Paint the star in True Ochre. Wire the star to a small Christmas tree. Glue the snowman's hat brim to hit the hat. Glue the nose into place and add a tie for a scarf. Glue the heart into place on the sign.
