Ocean Waves Painted Staircase

Make waves on a staircase with Americana Decor® Chalky Finish™.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- paper towels
- 1" painter's tape
- 1/2" angle brush
- white paper
- silicone caulk
- pencil
- cleaning cloth
INSTRUCTIONS
- Clean the stairs well before applying paint by vacuuming and then wiping clean with a cloth. Apply painter's tape along edge of the steps. (See photo.)
- Make a sketch of the stairs; number and label them; and then paint out a design using the actual colors: Escape, Keepsake, Treasure, New Life, and Serene. (Alternating between the colors, each stair face has two colors. Having a design on hand makes it easier to "paint by numbers'' while working on the stairs.)
- For this design, in order to keep it relatively organic, each color is painted on in a wavy pattern. Let each color dry completely before applying the second color.
- Continue each stair face until the staircase is complete. Clean up the edges of the stairs with caulk for a sharp clean line, if necessary.
