Add neons in Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics to rocks for stand-out critters and inspirational messages.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • liner brush
    • hot glue gun
    • stylus
    • large flat brush
    • black fine-point permanent marker
    • small wire cutters
    • round brush
    • chenille stem
    • craft wire
    • small flat brush
    • pencil
    • assortment of round and flat rocks

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Wash and dry all rocks completely before painting.

    1. CATERPILLAR: Use a flat brush to paint all pebbles/rocks with Cotton Ball. Let dry.

    3. Paint all the pebbles/rocks with Green (Neon). Let dry.

    5. Use a round brush to dab Yellow (Neon) loosely in pebble centers. Let dry.
    6. On the largest pebble, use a round brush to paint eyes with Cotton Ball and a nose with Orange (Neon). Let dry.

    8. Use a liner brush to paint the mouth and eye pupils Blue (Neon).
    9. Use a stylus to dot the remaining pebbles with Blue (Neon). Let dry.
    10. Assemble. Glue pebbles to chenille stem. Bend and curl a small piece of chenille stem for an antennae.

    12. ANT: Use a large flat brush to paint rocks with Cotton Ball. Let dry and then paint with Orange (Neon). Let dry.

    14. Use a small flat brush to stripe body with Pink (Neon). Let dry.

    16. Use a liner brush to paint the eyes with Cotton Ball. Let dry.
    17. Use a permanent marker pen to outline the eyes and add details.

    19. Cut three pieces of wire. Curl the ends on two pieces for arms and legs. Bend a third piece into a "V". Assemble and secure wire on back with glue.

    21. SMILE: Use a flat brush to paint the rock with Cotton Ball. Let dry and then paint with Yellow (Neon). Let dry.

    23. Use a pencil to write a word of choice.

    25. Use a liner brush and Pink (Neon) to paint the letters. Let dry.
