Outfit a child with an apron in an on-trend cheetah print of SoSoft® Fabric Paint.

SUPPLIES

    • masking tape
    • sponge pouncer
    • canvas apron

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Find a plain white canvas fabric apron for a child (or an adult) for this project.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Gather the supplies including the SoSoft Pocket Patterns Wild Animal Stencil.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Using the stencil with its backing on, plan how and where you want the animal print pattern on the apron. (I planned my design by using a visualized line down the center of the apron. I started my stenciling at the top working my way down one side. I masked off the area I wanted to stencil using masking tape.)
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Using a sponge pouncer, dab on Neon Blue first. (Make sure to carefully saturate the exposed fabric). Carefully pull up the stencil and tape. (IMPORTANT TIP: After pulling up the stencil, place it on a non-stick surface to carefully wipe off the paint. You want to use a clean stencil each time you lay it down.)
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Mask off the next section to be stenciled. (TIP: You can carefully tape over the wet paint to continue or wait until the previous section is dry.) Clean and dry off the pouncer and paint the next section with Neon Pink.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Continue the process by dabbing on Neon Green into the new section. (If you have a section that will not take the full pattern, just mask off the area the same way and add the color.)
    12. Instruction #6
    13. For the next section, add Neon Orange.
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Mask off the following section and paint on Neon Yellow. Keep masking off sections and alternating Neon colors.
    16. Instruction #8
    17. To help keep the patchwork pattern in order, finish one side before working on the other side. (See photo.)
    18. Instruction #9
    19. The use of this pattern and stencil with the SoSoft Neon Fabric Paints could have a variety of fun applications.
