INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

  1. Measure off 1/4" stripes around the inside of the interior of the shadow box with the ruler and pencil.
  2. Paint the stripes with the 1/4" flat brush and Rouge and Everlasting alternating.
  3. Tape off the top of the glass with painter's tape.
  4. Paint the outside front of the frame with Rouge.
  5. Rub paraffin in the areas you would like the Rouge to show through.
  6. Draw lines on the corners of the frame front so you can paint the corner squares with Timeless and the 1/4" flat brush, and paint the rest of the frame front Legacy. Paint the edges the same colors so it looks like the color wraps around.
  7. Sand to distress and reveal the Rouge on the outside frame and distress the stripes on the inside. Wipe with a damp cloth.
  8. Transfer the anchor patterns to the four corners with tracing paper and a pencil. Just scribble on the back of the anchors with a pencil, tape the patterns down and trace over the top.
  9. Fill in the anchors with Rouge and the #2 liner brush. Let dry then distress the anchors lightly.
  10. Place a picture in your frame and shells to remember the beach.
