Create this fairyland village on a wooden slice using Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • pencil
    • 3/8" stencil brush
    • #10 flat brush
    • #1 liner brush
    • #1 round brush
    • Basswood country round

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Print the pattern to a size that fits the wooden round. Use a pencil to trace and transfer the pattern to the wooden round.
    2. Use a #10 flat brush to paint Soft Jade to the right in between the trees. Rinse brush. Use the same brush to paint Inch Worm on the left lower section in between the trees. Rinse brush. With the same brush, use Chick for the entire upper sky, blending into the other colors. Rinse brush.

    4. Use the #10 flat brush and Almond to paint the stems on all four mushrooms. Rinse brush.

    6. Use the same brush to paint the trees on with Coffee Bean. Rinse brush.

    8. Use the #10 flat brush and Red Hot to paint the tops of the mushrooms. Use the same brush without rinsing to shade the mushroom tops. Rinse brush.

    10. Use the #10 flat brush to mix (1) part Almond with (1) part Brown Sugar. Use the mix to shade the mushroom stems. Rinse brush.

    12. Use the #10 flat brush to mix (2) parts Cotton Ball with (1) part Deep Turquoise. Use the mix to fill in the windows. Rinse brush.
    13. Use the same brush to mix (1) part Cotton Ball with (1) part Deep Turquoise. Use the mix to paint one door. Rinse brush. Use the same brush to mix (1) part Cotton Ball with (1) part Pink Tropics. Use the mix to paint another door. Rinse brush. Use the same brush to mix (1) part Cotton Ball with (1) part Lavender Fields. Paint on the last door with the mix. Rinse brush.

    15. Use the #1 liner brush and Deep Turquoise to outline the door with Cotton Ball/Deep Turquoise mix and to add the wood grain lines. Rinse brush. Use the same brush and Pink Tropics to outline the Cotton Ball/Pink Tropics mix door and to add wood grain lines in the door. Rinse brush. Use the same brush and Lavender Fields to outline and add wood grains lines to the Cotton Ball/Lavender Fields mix door. Rinse brush.

    17. Use the #1 round brush and Cotton Ball to paint the dots on the mushrooms and to outline the doors and widows.

    19. Use a 3/8" stencil brush and Green Beret to pounce on the bottom half of the grass. Use the same brush and Inch Worm to highlight the grass. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.

    21. Use the handle end of the #1 liner brush dipped into Deep Turquoise to make a dot for a doorknob on the Cotton Ball/Deep Turquoise door. Wipe off handle. Use the same handle dipped into Pink Tropics to add a dot doorknob on the Cotton Ball/Pink Tropics door. Wipe off handle end. Use the same handle dipped into Lavender Fields to add a dot doorknob on the Cotton Ball/Lavender Fields door. Wipe off handle.

    23. Use the #10 flat brush to apply DuraClear Ultra-Matte Varnish to the entire wooden slice to seal. Rinse brush. Once cured, place outside in the garden or hang on the fence.
