- Place patterned scrapbook paper patterned-side down on a flat work surface. Flip the stool over so the seat is on the paper. Using a pencil, trace the shape of the seat. Cut out the scrapbook paper using scissors.
- Measure how wide seat of stool is. Cut a square of the second scrapbook paper of that size.
- Paint the sides of the stool seat in Lamp Black.
- Sand the seat of stool and wipe away dust with paper towel. Apply a layer of Americana Satin Decou-Page to the top of the seat and the back of the first sheet of scrapbook paper. Position the paper and apply another layer of Decou-Page on top. Position the second sheet of scrapbook paper and apply a coat of Decou-Page to the surface. Apply the cut scrapbook paper square, smooth out wrinkles, and apply a second coat of Decou-Page to seal.
- Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the bottom legs of stool in Red Alert. Let paint dry completely between layers.
- Position a monogram stencil as desired. (Shown: DecoArt Personally Yours Between the Lines Solid Stencil.) Using a cosmetic sponge, apply Lamp Black to the stencil.
