Mid-Century Modern Chalky Dresser

A home-made stencil, along with Americana Decor® Chalky Finish™ paint and wax, breathe life into this dresser.

SUPPLIES

    • sandpaper
    • dresser
    • #12 stencil brush
    • 1" painter's tape
    • cardstock
    • hand-sander
    • dry cloth
    • paintbrushes

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Remove the drawers. Sand the surface of the dresser with sandpaper. (Or use a hand-sander.) Wipe the surface with the dry cloth.

    3. Paint the bottom two drawers in Vintage. Paint the second drawer to the top in Lace. Allow to dry and sand lightly. Apply a second coat.

    5. Using the pattern provided, cut a triangle into cardstock (or index cards).

    7. Paint the triangles in a random pattern moving from the bottom left to the upper right of the dresser drawers in Champagne Gold. (Hint: Odd numbers are more visually appealing.)

    9. Tape off the legs about 2.5" to 3" from the bottom and paint in Champagne Gold.

    11. Apply a coat of Clear Crème Wax to the entire dresser. Buff for a matte sheen.
