NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

Paint the entire front of the sign in red.
Tape off 1" stripes vertically on the surface. Mix together red and a small amount of black. Paint this mix between the taped areas. Remove the tape.
Tape off 1" stripes horizontally on the surface. Mix together red and a small amount of black. (Make this mix slightly lighter than the mix in the previous step.) Paint this mix between the taped areas. Leave the tape in place.
Apply another layer of tape vertically. Mix together black with a small amount of red. Apply this mix to the sign. Remove the tape.
Transfer the lettering pattern onto the sign front with white transfer paper. With a round brush, paint the text in Gold (Metallic).
