INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
This is a fun project using no patterns. Just tape off shapes. Basecoat and then add circles, squares, grids, etc. as desired.
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Tape off the bottom and top rims of the planter and then various sizes of triangles and stripes.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush to paint the open areas in colors of your choice. Remove all tape except the bottom and top rims.
- Use a pencil to make various shapes in the painted areas. Use found objects like plastic jar lids for circles; cardstock as a straight edge to make triangles, grid lines, etc.
- Use a paintbrush of choice to paint the drawn shapes using the same colors.
- Remove the remaining tape. Use a permanent marker to outline the designs. Use the handle end of a brush to make dots.
- Stand a #4 flat brush on end, dip into paint, and then tap lightly on the planter surface to make "confetti" look.
- Have fun making this planter your own with simple shapes and patterns.
