Other supplies

• painter's tape
• 1" flat brush
• cup of water
• 1/2" detail brush
• metallic marker in gold (optional) (Michaels)
• laptop table (or accent table)

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES: Optional: Stain the table using a mix of water and Rich Chestnut before starting. Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Using the painter's tape, section off the geometric shapes and the stripes.
   
2. Paint in the areas that have not been taped off with Soft Silver, using two to three coats. Let dry between coats and at the end.
   
3. Remove the tape.
   
4. Add the tape going in a different direction, creating more shapes to be filled in with Charcoal.
   
5. Optional: Using a gold metallic marker, outline the shapes you have created. (This will give it a clean, crisp finish.)
   
6. Let dry and top with your favorite plants.
   

HELPFUL HINTS

Because Charcoal is one of the darker shades, it does not require as many coats. In most instances you can get away with just one. Since Soft Silver is lighter, you may need two-three coats depending on how opaque you want the paint.
