Floral Masquerade Mask

Bedazzle a Halloween mask with sparkle via Dazzling Metallics®.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • scissors
    • #3 round brush
    • 1" flat brush
    • #0 liner brush
    • feathers
    • cardstock
    • cosmetic sponges
    • 3D flowers
    • E6000 Glue
    • mask
    • Spellbinders® Grand Calibur® Machine

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Cut off the cording of the mask.

    3. Run white cardstock through the Spellbinders machine with the desired embossing folders.
    4. Tear the embossed cardstock into smaller pieces. Using Americana Matte Decou-Page, adhere the cardstock pieces onto the mask. Apply another layer of Matte Decou-Page to the top of the paper. Let dry.

    6. Once fully dry, trim any edges of excess paper. Apply Matte Decou-Page to any edges that are sticking up.

    8. Using a 1" flat brush, apply Prussian Blue to the entire mask (front and back). Allow some areas to be darker than others; wipe back with a paper towel if needed.

    10. Add depth by adding Black Forest Green and Mulberry randomly to the mask. Using separate cosmetic sponges, very lightly apply Berry, Purple Pearl, Ice Blue, and Festive Green to the embossed areas to add highlights.

    12. Prepare the paper flowers by cutting them from the stem and removing green foliage.

    14. Create a mix of Prussian Blue, a small amount of Lamp Black, and Ice Blue. Create another mix of Prussian Blue, a small amount of Lamp Black, and Festive Green. Create another mix of Prussian Blue, a small amount of Lamp Black, and Purple Pearl. Paint a variety of sizes of flowers in each color mix. Let dry.

    16. Once fully dry, adhere the flowers to the top of the mask using E6000 Glue. Let dry completely before moving.
    17. Add random highlights to the flowers in Purple Pearl, Teal, and Festive Green, using a #3 round brush. Using a liner brush, add highlights to the forehead and side embossings in Teal, Festive Green, and Berry.

    19. Using E6000 Glue, adhere feathers to the top of the mask under the flowers. Add dots with the Silver Craft Twinkles Writer along the eyes that extend from the inner eye to the flowers. Add a dot of Silver to the centers of each flower and on the center embossed piece of the forehead.
