Make the holidays merry with a pretty painted sign using DecoArt paints and your Cricut Maker!

SUPPLIES

• 1" pouncer
• Cricut Cutting Vinyl
• Cricut Maker
• Cricut Weeding Tool
• Cricut Transfer Tape Bulk
• Cricut Faux Leather

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Choose a medium rectangle unpainted surface for your sign. We're using a reclaimed piece of wood approximately 11" x 7".

2. Use a brush to paint Vintage Effect Wash onto your wood surface.

3. Next, use a dry, clean cloth to wipe away the excess Vintage Effect Wash until you get the desired effect. If you wipe away too much, simply add another coat and wipe back again. Allow to dry.

4. Open Cricut Design Space and select the Happy Father's Day Plaid card from the images (#M3C4FB) then use the contour tool to remove the outside card but keep the plaid pattern. Stretch the image to fit your surface.

5. Use your Cricut Maker to cut your vinyl (any color will work). Then weed your image so you have a plaid stencil. Apply transfer paper to the stencil. Next place your stencil on the wood and remove the transfer paper gently.

6. Dab on Americana Multi-Surface Black Tie paint with a pouncer or foam brush.

7. Try to remove your stencil while the paint is still wet. Then allow it to dry. If you want the plaid to be more faded, add another coat of Vintage Effect Wash to the top and wipe away excess. We added two more coats of Vintage Effect Wash here.

8. Go back to Cricut Design Space and select the words for the faux leather. We chose a Make Merry script (#M30712). Use your Cricut Maker to cut the words out. Then paint them with Extreme Sheen in Copper. Allow to dry and glue to your sign.

9. Display your sign and enjoy!
