Vintage Magazine Side Table Transformation

Transform a vintage side table into a beautiful and useful magazine holder using Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint, Creme Wax, and stencils.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • sandpaper
    • lint-free cloth
    • painter's tape
    • 2" flat brush
    • disposable gloves
    • small mixing bowls
    • drop cloth
    • 1" stencil brush
    • table
    • paint stick

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Thoroughly clean table with a damp cloth and let dry completely.

    3. Mix paints to desired color using mixing bowl and paint stick. Used in the project is a 50/50 mix of Treasure and Everlasting.
    4. Paint one coat of paint on the entire surface using 2" flat brush.

    6. To create a beachy-look, paint second coat of Everlasting using light, long strokes with a dry brush.

    8. Tape stencils to wood surface. Using up and down motion, paint graphics with stencil brush in Carbon. Carefully remove stencils while paint is still wet.

    10. After paint is completely dry, distress areas and edges using sandpaper.

    12. Apply creme wax to surface using a clean, lint-free cloth. Buff to shine.
