INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

  1. Mix together white and black to make a medium gray. With a flat brush, paint the entire canvas in the mixture. Once dried, transfer the pattern onto the canvas.
    Step 0 Example
  2. In the dark areas, apply Sap Green with a flat brush. Mix together Sap Green and Yellow Oxide for the highlights. Blend the highlights and shadows while the paint is still wet. If needed, use a little bit of white for an added highlight in the lightest areas.
    Step 1 Example
  3. With a flat brush, paint the pot in black. For the highlight area, mix in a small amount of white while the paint is still wet. Mix Titan Buff with Raw Umber and use a liner brush to add needles onto the cacti.
    Step 2 Example
  4. Mix together Phthalo Blue, White, and Raw Umber for an ashy blue color. With a round brush, paint in the string to the plant hanger. Mix White or Raw Umber for the highlights and shadows. Paint the beads in Titan Buff and use Raw Umber for the shadow while the paint is still wet.
