"Little Prince" Painted Diaper Bag

Personalize a diaper bag in a royal fashion for the soon-to-arrive Little Prince.

SUPPLIES

    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • pencil
    • #8 flat brush
    • #1 round brush
    • canvas diaper bag

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Remove all tags from the diaper bag.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the crown pattern to one pocket and the words "LITTLE PRINCE" to the other pocket.

    5. Use a #8 flat brush and Indian Turquoise to basecoat the crown. Rinse brush.

    7. Use a #1 round brush to paint each letter in the pattern: first, Ocean Blue; next, Indian Turquoise; and next, a mix of (3) parts White with a small amount of Lamp Black. (Make a lot of this mix for future steps.) Continue painting the letters in this pattern for the two words. Rinse brush.

    9. Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the details onto the crown. Use a #1 round brush and Ocean Blue to fill in the gems on the crown, triangles on the base of the crown, and inside of the center diamond. Rinse brush. Use the same brush and the White/Lamp Black mix from the previous step to outline the three diamonds. Rinse brush.

    11. Use a #1 round brush and the White/Lamp Black mix to outline the entire crown.
