Autumn Leaf Tray

Brighten a kitchen with Americana® Acrylics and all the lovely colors of fall leaves.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • pencil
    • #3 round brush
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • #6 flat brush
    • painter's or masking tape (optional)
    • large wooden tray with wavy edge

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Use a 3/4” flat brush to basecoat the center of the tray Light Buttermilk. Rinse brush.
    2. Use the same brush and Heritage Brick to paint all the tray's edges inside and out. (Optional: Mask the edges first with painter’s or masking tape to paint clean edges.) Rinse brush.
    3. Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the leaf patterns randomly on the tray.
    4. Use a #6 flat brush to paint leaves with different color combinations or solids: Cadmium Orange with Citron Green and Jack-O’-Lantern Orange; Country Red with Heritage Brick; Cadmium Yellow with Light Cinnamon; Jack-O’-Lantern Orange with Light Cinnamon; Fawn, solid; Light Cinnamon, solid; and Wasabi Green with Cadmium Yellow and Light Buttermilk, etc.
    5. Use the #3 round brush to add leaf veins using Light Cinnamon, Jack-O’-Lantern Orange, Country Red, Fawn, Heritage Brick, and Light Buttermilk.
