Place the papier-mâché shape surface face down on the patterned paper, pattern side down. Using a pencil, trace the outside of the shape.
Cut out the paper using a craft knife.
Place the cut paper on top of the shape to double-check that it lines up correctly.
Apply a coat of Paper Decou-Page to the shape's surface. Position the paper and remove any wrinkles or bubbles. Apply another coat of Decou-Page to the surface of paper. Let dry.
Once completely dry, lightly sand away any areas where the paper is overhanging.
