Lightly sand any rough edges of the wooden pallet. Remove any dust with a damp paper towel.
Paint the front, back, and edges of the pallet with Pinecone Brown using a 2" chip brush. Work the paint into the surface by continuously brushing the paint into the surface until it is opaque.
Paint a rough, dry-brush coat of Sprout Green over the front and back of the pallet, purposefully letting the Pinecone Brown show through.
Position the wooden letters onto the pallet to determine the placement of the painted ornaments. Do not adhere down.
Trace circles in various spots on the pallet using a round plastic lid of choice. (Pay attention to where the letters will be placed and include partial circles at the edges as desired.)
Paint the circles with two coats of Pinecone Brown, Geranium Red, Desert Turquoise, and Citrus Green using a 1" angle brush.
Use painter's tape to mask a section of the Americana Jacobean Floral Stencil on top of one of the painted circles. Stencil the design onto the circle using Splendid Gold (Metallic) and a 1/2" stencil brush.
Repeat the stenciling for each of the painted circles, including the partial ones. (Vary the placement of the stencil over each circle for visual interest.)
Lightly sand any rough edges of the wooden letters. Remove any dust with a damp paper towel.
With a chip brush, paint the letters with two coats of Geranium Red.
Paint a rough, dry-brush coat of Pinecone Brown over the front and edges of each letter, purposefully letting the Geranium Red show through. Distress each letter further by lightly dry-brushing Pinecone Brown with the side of the brush along all of the edges.
Position the letters and attach each one to the pallet using E6000 Glue.
HELPFUL HINTS
When dry-brushing, wipe excess paint onto a paper towel until there is hardly any left on the brush before painting the surface.
