INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Thoroughly clean container with damp paper towels. Slowly tear off the silver piece on the top of the can. Set aside.
- Cut a piece of craft paper the same size as the container's height, leaving the 12" side. This one is around 4-1/4" x 12".
- Wrap the paper around the can and use a pencil to mark where the two meet.
- Use Silhouette machine and vinyl to cut out stencil owl pattern provided.
- Lay the paper flat again. Use the stencils to create the owls. Start with the body of the owls. Use a cosmetic sponge to apply paint. Stencil the bodies in Red Barn, Cactus, and Soft Jade.
- Begin adding the eyes and embellishments using Cotton Ball, Cocoa Bean, and Paprika.
- See image below for placement and embellishment reference.
- Using a black marker (or Black Tie and a liner brush), freehand a wire for Christmas lights on the top portion of the paper.
- Add dots of "lights" using Soft Jade, Cactus, and Red Barn using a liner brush along the wire.
- Once the paper is completely dried, adhere the paper to the can. Apply a coat of Americana Matte Decou-Page onto the can with a 1" flat brush. Position paper and remove any wrinkles or bubbles with your finger. Apply another layer of Decou-Page onto surface.
