"I'm Just Me" Oval Mixed Media Art

Celebrate your individuality with mixed media wall art made with Americana® Stencils.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- scissors
- 3/4" flat brush
- #8 round brush
- #8 flat brush
- black ink pad
- scrapbook paper
- stamps
- oval wooden plaque
INSTRUCTIONS
- Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint horizontal stripes on the plaque in Cobalt Teal Hue and Cobalt Turquoise Hue.
- Using a #8 flat brush, paint stripes around the perimeter in Cobalt Teal Hue and Cobalt Turquoise Hue.
- Use a pencil to trace the girl's face onto scrapbook paper and cut out with scissors. Use a 3/4" flat brush to paint the face with Cobalt Teal Hue, adding plenty of water to make it transparent. Use a #8 round brush to paint the eyes in Titanium White and Burnt Sienna, and the lips and rosy cheeks in Primary Magenta.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush to adhere the face in place with Matte Medium. (Refer to photo for placement.)
- Use a #8 round brush to paint the hair in Cobalt Turquoise Hue and the dress in Dioxazine Purple.
- Mix Titanium White with Dioxazine Purple 2:1 and mix Titanium White with Cobalt Turquoise Hue 2:1. Use these color mixes to stencil the words "I'm just me". (Shown: Distressed Alpha Stencil) (Refer to photo for placement.)
- Randomly stamp throughout the plaque with a stamp of your choice and a black ink pad.
