Humpty Dumpty Painted Egg

Create this Humpty Dumpty character in bright Easter-time colors of Americana® Acrylics.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- scissors
- pencil
- 3/4" flat brush
- #0 liner brush
- button
- glue
- sponge pouncer
- Fun Foam sheets
- pencil sharpener
- scruffy brush
- four wooden dowel rods
- wiggle eyes
- Styrofoam egg
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Use a pencil to mark off the head about 1/3 way down from the narrow end of the Styrofoam egg.
- Use a pencil to draw a collar onto the egg with two pointed ends in the front.
- Trace and transfer the hand pattern onto the lavender Fun Foam and the shoe pattern on the brown Fun Foam. Cut out the shapes with scissors.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush and Flesh Tone to paint the head and Snow White for the collar.
- Load the tips of a scruffy brush with Melon. Scrub almost all of paint off onto paper towel. Gently swirl the brush bristle tips in a circular motion on the face for cheeks.
- Use a liner brush and Lamp Black to paint the mouth and nose. Outline the collar.
- Use a sponge pouncer and Poodleskirt Pink to stamp dots on the body.
- Position and adhere the wiggle eyes and a button.
- Sharpen one end of each dowel with a pencil sharpener. Position and push them into the body for arms and legs. Secure with glue.
- Position the hands on the arms and shoes on the feet. Secure with glue.
