Christmas Hot Chocolate Caddy

Wrap a Christmas goody box in trendy plain and holiday colors of Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • paper towels
    • Mason jars
    • wood glue
    • ribbon
    • 1" foam brush
    • 100-grit sandpaper
    • tack cloth
    • scrapbook paper
    • wooden figures
    • rustic tote

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Remove the price stickers from the wooden tote and the wooden reindeer and snowman. Sand the wooden tote and use a tack cloth or wet paper towel to wipe away any dust.

    3. Using a 1" foam brush, paint the interior of the wooden tote with two coats of Primary Red. Allow to dry.

    5. Using a 1" foam brush, paint the handle and sides of the tote with two coats of Hauser Dark Green. Allow to dry.

    7. Using a dry-brushing technique, paint the wooden reindeer and wooden snowman with Snow White.
    8. Trim the scrapbook paper to fit the front of the tote. Using a foam brush, apply a thin coat of Decou-Page to the back of the scrapbook paper. Adhere to the tote. Brush a thin coat of Decou-Page to the front of the paper and allow to dry. Repeat on the other side of the wooden tote.

    10. Apply wood glue to the backs of the wooden snowman and reindeer. Adhere the wooden pieces to the front and back of the tote.

    12. Using a jar lid, trace three circles on the scrapbook paper. Use scissors to cut out the circles. Insert them into the jar lids.
    13. Fill Mason jars with peppermint sticks, chocolate chips, and other hot chocolate mix-ins. Tie coordinating ribbon around the jar lids.
