SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • 1/4" flat brush
    • craft glue
    • 1" painter's tape
    • fine/small round brush
    • flat thumbtacks
    • cork board
    • cosmetic sponges
    • wooden heart shape

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. FOR THE CORK BOARD: Position the stencil in the desired location (shown: Americana Decor Honeywire Stencil). Use 1" painter's tape to hold the stencil in place.
    2. Using a cosmetic sponge, apply Spiced Pumpkin to the top and bottom rows of the stencil.
    3. Using a clean cosmetic sponge, apply Spicy Mustard to the next top and bottom row of the stencil.
    4. Using a clean cosmetic sponge, apply Pineapple to the rest of the stencil. Remove the stencil; set the cork board aside to dry.
    5. FOR THE BEES: Using a 1/4" flat brush, paint three smaller hearts in Snow White.
    6. Using a 1/4" flat brush, paint three larger hearts in Spicy Mustard.
    7. On half of the larger heart, outline with Lamp Black on a fine, round brush. Create jagged stripes for the body of the bee and a dot for the eye. Paint two swirls for antennas.
    8. Using the fine, round brush, apply a small amount of Pineapple between the stripes to create a highlight.
    9. On the Snow White hearts, paint two longer swirls for the wings.
    10. Using craft glue, adhere a large and small heart together in desired position. Once dried, glue to the body of the bee onto flat thumbtack.
