Gather materials needed to begin project, including frames, paint, twine, and brushes.
Use flat paintbrush to apply metallic paint to wooden laser cut frames. Set frames aside to completely dry.
Use a flat paintbrush to apply chalky paint to a large 16"x20" open back frame. Reapply as needed for full coverage. Rinse brush.
Measure and mark with pencil positioning for eye screws on large frame. Start 1-1/2" from inner top edge on both sides. Measure and mark down another 6-1/2" from top. Measure and mark down another 13" from top. Screw eye screws into all marked positions.
Cut three pieces of twine into 40" lengths. Loop twine through the eye screw on one side and tie twine through eye screw on opposite side. Continue with 2 other pieces of twine. Trim away any excess twine.
Turn work over and mount on wall. Add medium sized clothespin to twine for displaying holiday greeting cards or photos. Mount painted laser cut frames along side larger frame.
HELPFUL HINTS
Measure and mark position of screw eyes with pencil to ensure placement is the same on both sides of large frame.
Pre-drill pilot holes at marked positions to make fasteners easier to screw into place.
