    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Make sure to test for lead paint if working with an older piece of furniture.

    1. Choose a wooden piece of furniture, like this side table, with a flat front for best results.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. With medium grit sandpaper, sand the surface to remove any sheen from the existing paint.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. With a 1/2" brush, give the piece of furniture two coats of Warm White. (Depending upon the base color, it may be necessary to go over once more in some places to ensure a flat finish.)
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Mark the center of the drawer front.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Print out the hexagon pattern, align it with the center mark, and secure with tape. Place carbon paper underneath and trace the pattern to transfer the lines onto the furniture. (Note: The pattern shown has an additional three lines in the center of each hexagon.)
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Working one color at a time, carefully fill in each shape using the detail brushes. Allow paint to dry and go over with a second coat. (See STEP 7 for color placements.)
    12. Instruction #6
    13. For best results, keep the shape-to-color orientation the same throughout: I.e. Woodland Green is only used on lower left diamonds; Moss Green is only used on the horizontal diamonds; Dark Denim is used on lower right diamonds; Steel Blue is used on lower left diamonds; Smoke Grey is used on lower right diamonds; and Warm White is used on horizontal diamonds and the remaining diamonds that need to be filled.
    14. Instruction #7
