"Hello Spring" Bannered Wooden Sign

Sign in for spring on a wall accent made using Americana Decor® Chalky Finish.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • scissors
    • 2" flat brush
    • craft glue
    • plain white copy paper
    • vinyl
    • assorted scrapbook paper
    • Silhouette electronic cutting machine
    • tape
    • twine
    • wooden board
    • 1" stencil brush

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Paint a wooden board using Refreshing. Set aside to dry.
    2. Trace a triangle onto a piece of paper. (Skip this step if you are using the Silhouette file for the flag banner/bunting.)

    4. Mirror the triangle and cut out the diamond shape. (Or use the Studio file to cut out the diamonds)

    6. Trace the diamond onto the assorted scrapbook papers.

    8. Cut out all the diamonds.

    10. Fold each diamond in half to form a triangle.

    12. Put twine in the crease and glue the ends of the triangle together. (The twine should still be able to move freely.)

    14. Cut out a vinyl "hello SPRING" sign using the Studio file provided and a Silhouette electronic cutting machine. Apply the stencil to the wooden board.

    16. Use a 1" stencil brush to fill in the wording "hello SPRING" with Everlasting.

    18. Remove the vinyl and let the wording dry.

    20. Distress the edges of the sign using a high-grit sandpaper.

    22. Remove any sanding dust using a damp paper towel.

    24. Cut and position the flag banners where you would like them.

    26. Turn the sign over and tape the banners in place.

    28. Position and tape the other sides of the banners.
