Harlequin Tone-on-Tone Stenciled Nightstand

Jazz up a boring bedroom nightstand with tone-on-tone, harlequin stenciled checks.

SUPPLIES

    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • 2" flat brush
    • #8 flat brush
    • 1" painter's tape
    • foam paint roller
    • clean cloth

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Wipe down the nightstand with a clean, dry cloth.

    3. Paint the entire piece (including hardware) with Relic using a #8 flat brush.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Mix (3) parts Soft-Touch Varnish with (1) part Relic.
    6. Tape the stencil to the top of the nightstand with 1" blue painter's tape. Use a foam paint roller to apply the tinted varnish. Repeat to cover the surface.

    8. Use the tinted varnish to paint the hardware, sides, and accents (such as the lines on the top and bottom of the drawers).
