Experiment with a stand-out invitation for your Halloween party by slipping details into a painted test tube.

SUPPLIES

• paper towels
• scissors
• #1 liner brush
• permanent marker
• glass test tube
• E6000 Glue
• dryer sheet
• heat gun
• wooden shape
• craft paper
• wooden ball

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. From a dryer sheet, cut out the desired length to cover the test tube. Put holes in the dryer sheet using a heat gun: Start with the heat gun approximately 6-8" away from the dryer sheet and slowly move the sheet until it is approximately 3-5" away to create holes. (Holes can form quickly, so be attentive.) The dryer sheet is more than large enough to cover the tube, but making holes in the entire sheet will give you a choice of which area is most desirable.

2. Place the dryer sheet over a paper towel or brown craft paper and spray on Carbon Black to achieve the desired look.

3. Choose the area most desired on the dryer sheet and cut to fit the test tube. Use Americana Dishwasher-Safe Decou-Page to apply the dryer sheet by coating the area with Decou-Page, applying the cut dryer sheet, and placing another coat of Decou-Page on top. Set aside to dry completely.

4. Position the desired stencil (shown: Americana Reusable Stick-On Lotsa Labels Stencil) on the craft paper. Spray Yellow Green as desired. Let dry. Once dry, free-hand text and embellishment of your choice using a black permanent marker.

5. Paint the cork from the test tube in Eggplant; the wooden shape in Leprechaun, and the small ball in Pumpkin Patch. Let dry. Once dry, dry-brush Black Tie over the surfaces to achieve a distressed look.

6. Using E6000 Glue, adhere the cork, wooden shape, and circle together as desired for a topper according to packaging instructions. Use E6000 Glue to adhere the label on the front of the tube. Roll up an invitation and insert it into the tube.
