Garden Ghoul Crackle Mask

SUPPLIES

Americana® Acrylics

  • Espresso (DA271)
  • Honey Brown (DA163)
  • Pebble (DA303)

DecoArt Media® Specialty Products

  • Clear Crackle Glaze (DMM16)

Other supplies

  • water container
  • palette or plastic plate
  • paper towels (or rags)
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun (and clear glue sticks)
  • clean cloth
  • artificial leaves (various sizes)
  • paintbrushes (including chip and medium brushes)
  • Styrofoam mask

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Paint the entire mask surface in Honey Brown and allow to dry.

  2. Paint the entire surface in Clear Crackle Glaze and allow to dry.

  3. Apply Espresso to the entire surface, then wipe it back with a paper towel or rag and allow to dry.

  4. Apply Clear Crackle Glaze again and allow to dry.

  5. Use a medium brush to apply both Pebble and Espresso in vertical strokes. Wipe back with a cloth.

  6. Remove the artificial leaves from the stems.

  7. Working with the largest leaves, arrange around the exterior of the mask. Continue adding/layering smaller leaves. When satisfied with the arrangement, hot glue each layer to the back of the mask.

  8. Using hot glue, adhere small leaves to the mask (around the eye area).
