NOTE: Allowing your paint to fully dry prior to adding the vinyl is really important. A key to getting nice clean lines is to use the same color under the vinyl over the top before painting the final top color.

  1. The finished product is a reversed stencil Halloween sign. To get started, first cut your vinyl using the provided cut file.
    Step 0 Example
  2. While you are cutting your vinyl, paint stripes on your canvas using Halloween inspired colors.
    Step 1 Example
  3. While your canvas was drying, weed out the negative areas of your vinyl saying.

  4. Adhere your cut vinyl to your canvas using transfer tape. You want to make sure the colors are fully dry before transferring your lettering.
    Step 3 Example
  5. paint the top of your vinyl letters and canvas with White Birch. Let dry, and apply a second coat of paint if needed.
    Step 4 Example
  6. When the paint is dry, carefully remove the vinyl lettering. This will allow the Halloween colors below to show through.
    Step 5 Example
  7. Peel letters back slowly, using a craft knife to help any areas that stick. Throw away the peeled back vinyl, and enjoy your spooky sign!
    Step 6 Example
