Grain Sack Inspired Tray Using Chalky Finish

Use Americana Decor Chalky Finish paint to create a trendy tray with a grain sack stripe design.

SUPPLIES

    • sandpaper
    • 1-1/2" flat brush
    • petroleum jelly
    • painter's or masking tape
    • wooden tray

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Use 1-1/2" brush to paint entire tray Relic.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Use your finger or a cotton swab to randomly apply petroleum wherever you don't want the top coat color to adhere.

    5. Use 1-1/2" brush to paint entire tray Everlasting.

    7. When entirely dry, use sandpaper to distress the tray inside, sides and edges.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Use tape to mask off stripes as desired. Use brush and Legacy to fill in stripes. Remove tape.

    11. Use sandpaper to lightly distress stripes. Remove dust
    12. Instruction #6
    13. Seal with finish of your choice. Apply Clear Wax and buff to a satin sheen or brush on one of our Chalky Finish Varnishes.
