    • paper towels
    • 1" painter's tape
    • paintbrushes
    • high heels

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Allow to dry between steps.

    1. Using painter's tape, mask off the area around the sole to protect the shoe during painting. Apply Yellow to the entire sole of the shoe. While the paint is still wet, apply quick Orange strokes sparingly to the entire sole of the shoe.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Mix Red with a touch of Orange to make a poppy shade. Using the pattern as a guide, paint flower shapes over the entire sole, bleeding some of the flowers off the edge. (Don't be afraid to paint a rough, painterly shape.)
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Using a fine liner brush and Black, outline and add detail to each flower, adding a second or third overlapping layer on each flower to make it unique.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Using a fine brush, add highlights in a ring shape to each flower in Fuchsia, adding highlights to the second or third layer where appropriate. Repeat this same method with Red, adding a shadow layer, blending into the previous highlights and adding shadows to the second or third layer where appropriate.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Using Black, paint a starburst shape in the center of each flower.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Use White to add dots to the center of every Black starburst and highlights to each flower in the form of simple hashed lines or squiggles.
    12. Instruction #6
