For the 4th of July, stencil a metal tray in red, white, and blue of Americana Decor Chalky Finish paint.

SUPPLIES

• water container
• palette or plastic plate
• paper towels
• sandpaper
• 1" flat brush
• #10 flat brush
• 1" painter's tape
• metal tray
• cosmetic sponges

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Using a 1" flat brush, paint the entire tray in Relic.
2. Center and secure the Americana Decor American Tribute Stencil in place using 1" painter's tape.
3. Using a cosmetic sponge, dab on the stencil design, starting with Rouge. (Refer to photo for color placement.)
4. With a cosmetic sponge, continue to dab on the stencil design using Legacy. (Refer to photo for color placement.)
5. With a cosmetic sponge, dab on the lettering under the flag in the stencil design using Relic.
6. With a cosmetic sponge, dab on the stars on the stencil design using Everlasting.
7. Using #10 flat brush, paint squares around the perimeter of the tray in Everlasting. (Refer to photo).
8. Using a #10 flat brush, paint squares around the perimeter of the tray in Timeless (in between the squares from the previous step).
9. Use sandpaper to distress the tray as desired. Remove dust.
10. Use 1" flat brush and Light Satin Varnish to seal the tray.
