God Bless America Stenciled Tray

For the 4th of July, stencil a metal tray in red, white, and blue of Americana Decor Chalky Finish paint.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- sandpaper
- 1" flat brush
- #10 flat brush
- 1" painter's tape
- metal tray
- cosmetic sponges
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Using a 1" flat brush, paint the entire tray in Relic.
- Center and secure the Americana Decor American Tribute Stencil in place using 1" painter's tape.
- Using a cosmetic sponge, dab on the stencil design, starting with Rouge. (Refer to photo for color placement.)
- With a cosmetic sponge, continue to dab on the stencil design using Legacy. (Refer to photo for color placement.)
- With a cosmetic sponge, dab on the lettering under the flag in the stencil design using Relic.
- With a cosmetic sponge, dab on the stars on the stencil design using Everlasting.
- Using #10 flat brush, paint squares around the perimeter of the tray in Everlasting. (Refer to photo).
- Using a #10 flat brush, paint squares around the perimeter of the tray in Timeless (in between the squares from the previous step).
- Use sandpaper to distress the tray as desired. Remove dust.
- Use 1" flat brush and Light Satin Varnish to seal the tray.
