NOTES: Let dry completely between painting steps. When you are ready to serve cake, place a clear plastic charger over the painted surface before adding the cake.
Basecoat the wooden charger, the candlestick, and the wooden word with striped alternating colors. (We used Aquamarine, Lavender, and Pink Tourmaline to create a vibrant galaxy-inspired palette.) One application of each color is enough to provide a good basecoat for the Galaxy Glitter.
Use a wide brush or fan brush to apply the first layer of the Galaxy Glitter over the corresponding color paint: Use Pink Cosmos for the Pink Tourmaline areas, Milky Way Blue for the Aquamarine areas, and Deep Space Blue for the Lavender areas. Keep applying layers of glitter until the desired aesthetic is achieved.
When the glitter is completely dry, use a fan brush to randomly brush on Silver Moon to create the effect of patches of stars in the galaxy.
Use wood glue to glue the painted wooden charger to the candlestick.
Glue the glitter word phrase to a food-safe cake stick.
