Glittered Circus Poster Frames

Other supplies

• water container
• palette or plastic plate
• paper towels
• sandpaper
• wooden frame (1-3; shapes and size of choice)
• photos (of circus animals or vintage circus postcards)
• paintbrushes (including fan brush)
• dry rag

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Lightly sand the surface of the frames with sandpaper. Wipe sawdust off the frames.
   
2. Stain frames with Oak Gel Stain. (Working in small areas, paint on the Gel Stain and then wipe away with a rag.) Repeat if a darker color is desired.
   
3. Paint stripes on the centers and corners of the frame in Santa Red. Allow to dry. Optional: Paint the inside rim of the frame in Antique Gold. (See photo.)
   
4. Once the paint is dry, apply Red Nebula to the Santa Red stripes with a fan brush. Re-apply for more coverage. Let dry. Add photos of circus animals or vintage circus postcards to the insides of the frames to complete the look.
