Clouds Painting Using Glazing Medium

Glazing Medium makes the layering of paint in this sky view effortless.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • transfer paper
    • 8" x 10" canvas
    • paintbrushes

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Paint the entire canvas in Crisp Blue.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Print the provided pattern to size and, using transfer paper, transfer the image onto the canvas. (See photo for placement.) Use Banana Cream for the two small clouds in the foreground and the large cloud in the background. Use Tangerine for the remaining area around those clouds. Mix Purple Pizzazz and Crisp Blue for a darker shade. Use mix to paint the top portion and the two middle clouds.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Mix Tangerine, Banana Cream, and Crisp Blue individually with (2) parts of Snow White. Add a drop of Glazing Medium to each mix. Use these mixes to add highlights and shadows to the clouds. (See photo for placement.) Bounce some Banana Cream and some Tangerine on both of the yellow and orange cloud sections. Use the light blue mix only on the the blue clouds. Save the Tangerine and Banana Cream mixes for STEP 4.

    7. Mix Tangerine with a touch of Purple Pizzazz and a drop of Glazing Medium. Use mix to add the shadows to the yellow and orange clouds. (See photo.) Add a touch of Snow White and a drop of Glazing Medium to the Banana Cream and Tangerine mixes from STEP 3. Use the new mixes to punch up the highlights on the clouds.
