Let Extreme Sheen™ help you create a picture-effect camera on a glass block.

SUPPLIES

• painter's tape
• art or cosmetic sponge
• #0 liner brush
• #0 round brush
• 1/4" brush
• light bulbs
• glass block: 8" x 8"

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

This project is about layering. Apply a thin layer of paint and allow drying time. Keep adding layers until you get the look you want.

1. Apply painter's tape to the edge of the glass block.

2. Using a triangular cosmetic sponge, apply the first layer of Pearl, Sapphire, Pewter, and Tin: Pearl is used in the center square for the front of the camera and in a circle to the left for the flash. Both edges, sides, and back are covered in Sapphire. Pewter is used for the viewfinder and Tin for the part between flash and viewfinder. Apply at least two coats with each color.

3. Using the round and liner brushes, begin outlining the parts of the camera. In the center, use Tin to create the lens, starting by creating the center dot and spiraling out. Use this same technique with the flash. Highlight both by adding Pearl to give them the look of light hitting the edges.

4. Create a textured edge on the sides by using Tin and Pearl in horizontal lines. Let dry. Once dry, go back over with a sponge and Sapphire to blend in the lines. For the viewfinder, create similar horizontal lines around a smaller square within. Apply a small dot of Pearl in the center.

5. Use the same technique for the sides.

6. Once the basic camera is finished, begin applying random flowers to the front portion, using Pink Tourmaline, Amethyst, and Aquamarine. Let dry completely.

7. Insert lights into the pre-drilled hole on the glass block. (This camera is a great addition for any photographer. It looks great with or without a light.)
