  • painter's tape

  • 3/4" flat brush

NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

  1. Wipe down the table with a damp paper towel.
  2. Use a pencil and ruler to make a border around the perimeter of the table top.
    Step 1 Example
  3. Place painter's tape down to mask off the center section of the table top.
    Step 2 Example
  4. Use the ruler and pencil to make seven even rows vertically and five rows horizontally. In each square, draw a diagonal line to create a triangle.
  5. Use a 3/4" flat brush to paint the triangles in any order using: Treasure, Delicate, Everlasting, Yesteryear, Refreshing, and Smitten. (The painter's tape helps here to mask off the specific triangles you are painting.)
    Step 4 Example
  6. Remove the tape and let the table top dry completely.
  7. Add painter's tape to mask off the area to paint the border without getting into the center section.
  8. Use a 3/4" flat brush with Primitive to paint the entire border. Remove the tape. Let dry completely.
  9. Use a #2 round brush with Relic to paint a thin border where the center section meets the outer border. Let dry completely.
  10. Once it is dry, use sandpaper to distress the table top as much or little as you would like. Wipe dust off with a damp paper towel.
    Step 9 Example
  11. Use a 3/4" flat brush to seal the table top and edges with Ultra-Matte Varnish.
