Out-of-This-World Painted Rocks

Go where no man has gone before with these space rocks, painted with Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- paper towels
- liner brush
- hot glue gun
- chalk pencil
- 5" x 7" canvas panel
- old toothbrush
- craft wire
- small flat brush
- medium flat brush
- paint palette or paper plate
- various flat rocks
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Wash and dry all rocks completely before painting.
- SPACESHIP ROCK: Use a medium flat brush and Silver (Metallic) to paint an oval-shaped rock. Let dry.
- Use a small flat brush and Black Tie to paint circles for the windows. Let dry.
- Use a liner brush and Cotton Ball to outline the windows and Black Tie for the dash lines. Let dry.
- Use a small flat brush and Turquoise Waters to paint the dome. Let dry.
- Optional: Mount the spaceship on galaxy-painted canvas board.
- GALAXY WITH PLANET ROCK: Loosely paint a flat rock with Black Tie, True Blue, and Eggplant, swirling the colors to blend slightly. Let dry.
- For the planet, paint a circle with True Blue. While wet, blend Turquoise Waters on one side to highlight and deepen on the opposite side with Black Tie. Let dry.
- Use a liner brush to add a Turquoise Waters line on the lighter side and a Cotton Ball ring around the planet. Let dry.
- Use an old toothbrush to spatter Silver (Metallic) over the entire rock. Let dry.
- ALIEN ROCK: Paint two oval-shaped flat rocks with Eggplant. Let dry.
- Use a chalk pencil to draw a face on one rock.
- Use a liner brush to paint the eyes and mouth with Cotton Ball. Let dry.
- Use a brush handle end to dot the eyes with Turquoise Waters and then with small dots with Black Tie and Cotton Ball. Let dry.
- Cut two pieces of wire. Bend or curl the wire pieces to form arms and legs. Assemble and glue on the back of the rocks.
