Other supplies

  • water container
  • palette or plastic plate
  • paper towels
  • stylus or pencil
  • tracing paper
  • transfer paper
  • 1" flat brush
  • #1 round brush
  • wooden planter


NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

  1. Use a 1" flat brush to basecoat each section of the wooden planter a different color, loading the brush separately using Blue Bird, Apple Green, Coastal Waters, and Lavender Fields. Rinse the brush between steps and at the end.

  2. Use a pencil or stylus and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the floral pattern to the front of the planter.

  3. Use a #1 round brush and Chartreuse to basecoat all leaves and certain flower centers. Rinse brush. While they are still wet, shade areas of both with Apple Green. Rinse brush.
    Step 2 Example
  4. Use a #1 round brush and load separately using Shrimp, Poppy, Lavender Fields, Soft Jade, Lipstick, and Black Tie and then create a few mixes of your own to add more detail. Rinse the brush between steps and at the end.
