Transform an old, broken planter into a sun summer game using Patio Paint.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- ruler
- pencil
- 1" flat brush
- 1/4" flat brush
- #0 liner brush
- landscaping or riverbed stones with flat surface on one side
- dish soap
- small concrete planter
INSTRUCTIONS
- Clean the surface with soap and water. Let surface dry thoroughly before painting.
- Use 1" flat brush to paint the base in the same colors chosen for game pieces (shown: Deep Buttercup and Sweet Pea).Keep applying paint until porous surface absorbs paint and becomes opaque, do not apply multiple coats with dry time between coats as this may cause streaking.
- Use same brush to paint the top (which was actually the bottom of the original planter), a neutral color (shown: Grey Skies) so the game pieces and tic tac toe grid will show up better.
- Use a ruler to determine the center of the game playing surface. Draw a small X in the center, which can easily be erased or painted over. Use the ruler to draw the grid.
- Use a liner brush and Wrought Iron to paint in grid.
- Paint game pieces, 5 in Deep Buttercup and 5 in Sweet Pea.
- Apply a coat of Clear Coat to entire surfaces for added durability.
