Capture the charm of a French bakery with these stenciled canvases using Americana Decor® Texture™.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • palette knife
    • paintbrushes
    • wrapped canvas

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. In a circular swirl, paint the outer edge of the canvas in Honor.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Continue painting the canvas with strokes that begin chunky and become increasingly feathered, progressively adding more Colonial toward the middle. Accent with Everlasting, continuing to use large sweeping strokes. Allow to dry thoroughly.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Once dry, accent the painting using a palette knife and Pewter (Metallic); apply the Texture in large sweeping strokes around the edges. Allow to dry thoroughly.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Center the French Bakery stencil in the middle of the canvas. Load the palette knife with Copper (Metallic), about the amount of a teaspoon. Lightly run the palette knife parallel across the stencil, holding the stencil still with the other hand.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. The stencil will need to be removed immediately after applying the Texture. To do so, lift the stencil straight up from the canvas, being careful not to slide it side to side.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. The same process can be applied using other stencils (such as Parisian Street), using the opposite colors: Copper (Metallic) and Honor in the background and Pewter (Metallic) as the lettering.
