Select accessories to paint. Shown: composition book, clipboard, notecard box, metal pencil box.
Paint each of the desk accessories with one coat of Heritage. On the metal box, mask out a rectangle on the top of the box.
Apply a thick coat of Treasure, starting in the middle of each item, moving the brush back and forth to pull the paint toward the edge. Add paint as needed, but keep some of the Heritage showing through in some spots, with special attention to any edges. On the metal box, keep the top color within the painted rectangle.
Using the Americana Decor French Living Stencils, decide on the word placement for each item.
Apply a small amount of Heirloom to the stencil brush, blot excess onto a paper towel, and stencil the designs.
HELPFUL HINTS
Use painter's tape to mask areas you don't want painted as well as to mask off parts of the stencil you don't want to use. Don't overload the stencil brush, as the paint could bleed underneath the stencil.
