Fourth of July Shimmery Rocket

This canvas can celebrate the 4th of July or light up a kid's room with an image of space travel.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- pencil
- 3/4" flat brush
- #8 round brush
- craft glue
- 11" x 14" canvas
- chenille stem
- glitter
- wooden stars
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the canvas Lamp Black. Trace and transfer the rocket pattern onto the canvas. Using a #8 round brush, outline the rocket in Snow White; fill it in with a 3/4" flat brush. Using a #8 round brush, paint the three fins in True Blue.
- Load a #8 round brush with Snow White and tap on canvas to create far away "stars".
- Using a #8 round brush, paint two horizontal stripes in True Blue.
- Use the eraser of a pencil to add dots in True Red.
- Use a #8 round brush to add Snow White accent stripes.
- Paint wooden stars in random sizes; four in Snow White, 11 in True Red; and one in True Blue. Add Glamour Glitter Paint in coordinating colors using a #8 round brush. Let dry.
- With craft glue, adhere the stars directly onto the canvas or onto red chenille stems or pipe cleaners and then onto the canvas. (Refer to photo for placement; several red stars are glued to pipe cleaners.)
