SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • disposable gloves
    • baby wipes
    • 8" x 10" basswood canvas
    • drinking straw
    • plastic cups
    • paintbrushes
    • aluminum foil pan
    • stir sticks
    • sheet protector

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Pour 1/2 cup of each of the following into small cups: Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Turquoise Hue, Green Gold, Phthalo Green-Blue, and Dioxazine Purple. Mix each cup 1:1 with Pouring Medium, stirring thoroughly.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Place the canvas in the foil pan, propping the canvas on top of four cups. (See photo.) At the edge of the canvas further away (this will be the top of the painting), add a strip of Carbon Black, without Pouring Medium, to the canvas. Pour strips of the paint/Pour Medium mixes from the cups across the canvas, varying colors, but mostly going from dark to light from the top toward the bottom. Add about 7-8 drops of Hansa Yellow Medium at the top. (See photo for placement.)
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Lay the edge of the sheet protector across the top of the canvas, where the Carbon Black paint was added. Evenly drag it down the canvas. Allow to dry.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Use the Botanical stencil in the background and foreground of the painting, using Sap Green, Phthalo Green-Yellow, and Yellow Oxide for the ferns and leaves. Use Quinacridone Burnt Orange and Quinacridone Violet for the berries.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Circling the tops of the Hansa Yellow Medium dots (added at the end of STEP TWO), add layered drops of Titanium White and Quinacridone Red. Using a straw, blow the dots away from the middle of the center. (They will create a natural looking petal.) Use Hansa Yellow Medium for the flower stamens.
