Abstract Flowers on Woodblock Canvas

Adding abstract line work to a flower painting modernizes this still-life made with Traditions™ Artist Acrylic.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- wooden canvas
- paintbrushes
INSTRUCTIONS
- Paint the background of the wooden canvas in Warm White using long, sweeping, and uneven strokes. Add Sapphire Blue to random areas.
- Paint the flower petals in Prussian Blue, Indian Yellow, and Quinacridone Violet. Highlight with the respective colors: Sapphire Blue, Warm White, and Red Violet. Add stamen to the flowers in contrasting colors. Paint the top of the vase in Indian Yellow. Highlight the vase in Warm White and shade in Prussian Blue.
- Using thin, whimsical lining, add stems and leaves using Prussian Blue.
