INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Punch holes in the chipboard covers, about 1" from the top and bottom. (See photo.) Use a palette knife to spread White Gesso over the chipboard covers.
- Using a #6 flat brush, paint the chipboard with two coats of Desert Turquoise. Allow the paint to dry between coats.
- Using a stencil brush, dab on Festive Green through the butterfly on the DecoArt Personally Yours Urban Ink Spirited Stencil. Repeat the design over both of the covers.
- Use a #0 round brush to paint the tiny polka dots on both covers in Navy Blue.
- Use a palette knife to spread Black Modeling Paste through the "find your wings and fly" quote from the Urban Ink Spirited Stencil. Stencil the flying butterfly onto the back cover.
- Using Snow White and a 1/4" flat brush, paint a label on the back of the journal cover.
- Brush Americana Matte Decou-Page around the edges of both covers and sprinkle Gold Glamour Dust over the Decou-Page. Brush off the excess glitter.
- Place strips of newsprint decorative tape on both covers. (See photo.)
- Brush on a small amount of Mulberry onto the top edge of the covers.
- While the paint is still wet, mist it with water so that it runs down the chipboard covers.
- Paint the chipboard chevron strips with Teal.
- Using hot glue, adhere the chevrons and buttons onto the covers.
- Using the holes punched into the chipboard a guide, punch holes in the mixed media paper. Stack it between the two covers and completely by adding binder rings through the holes.
