    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • painter's tape
    • 2" chip brush
    • dresser
    • 3" chip brush
    • primer (optional)
    • clean white cloth
    • containers
    • TSP
    • measuring spoon
    • measuring cup
    • 4" foam roller

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Remove all the drawer hardware from the dresser and set aside. Wipe down all surfaces with a mix of TSP (all purpose cleaner) and water. (Mix according to packaging instructions.)
    2. Instruction #1
    3. (Optional) Paint the drawer insides and fronts with two coats of primer. Allow the primer to dry completely between coats. Use a brush on the corners and a roller on the rest.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Lightly sand only the drawer fronts with sandpaper. Wipe down with a clean rag when completed. Apply two coats of Everlasting to the inside and drawer fronts. Allow the paint to dry completely between coats.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Mix the faux wood base color by mixing 4 ounces of Delicate and 1 teaspoon of Carbon. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Paint the dresser base with the mix in the previous step. (Use a brush to get inside the corners and a 4" foam roller on all flat surfaces.) Don't worry about perfect coverage, but don't leave any thick, uneven paint spots or globs anywhere.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Pour 1/4 cup of water into three separate containers. Add one tablespoon of Timeless into one; one tablespoon of Relic into the next; and finally a tablespoon of Rustic into the last one. Mix well. Use a chip brush to apply the Rustic mix first with a partially dry brush. Work into small areas, one at a time, trying to follow a straight line to mimic wood grain. Immediately wipe in the same direction with a paper towel or clean white rag to soften and blend some of the striations.
    12. Instruction #6
    13. Finish each color on the sides, top, front, and legs before moving onto the next color to keep the finish consistent. Follow with the Timeless mix, but only cover about 50%. Leave a lot of space between passes. Follow with the Relic mix, but only add a few passes. (If you would like more depth, mix some of the mixes together and add a pass or two randomly, blending in some areas and not in others.)
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Use painter's tape to tape off a section on the bottom of each leg. (Be sure it is the same amount on all.) Paint a few coats of Everlasting on the lower section. Remove the painter's tape.
    16. Instruction #8
    17. Allow the paint to dry from 24 hours. Apply two coats of Ultra-Matte Varnish to the exterior of the dresser and drawer fronts.
    18. Instruction #9
    19. Paint the drawer handles in Everlasting. Apply two coats of Ultra-Matte Varnish. Let dry. When dry, reinstall to the drawers.
