    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Find a number of thrift store artworks with interesting frames and pictures. (Having variety in the size and colors will make your art wall more visually interesting.) Wipe down the entire surface (glass and frame) of each piece to remove any dirt or oils.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Gather the paints, a medium round brush, and masking tape.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Mask off each framed piece wherever you like. (Tip #1: Leave the most interesting parts unpainted.) (Tip #2: Think about how it would look if you actually dipped the piece into paint. That is the faux "dipped" look we are going for.)
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Paint a basecoat of an Americana Acrylic. For the green, paint on Festive Green. Apply two coats, allowing to dry in between coats.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. For the purple, paint on two coats of Brilliant Purple. Allow to dry in between coats.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. For the blue and red, paint on two coats of Desert Turquoise and Santa Red, respectively. Allow to dry in between coats.
    12. Instruction #6
    13. For the Festive Green "dipped" frame, paint on Light Green Silk with a medium round brush. Allow to dry. Paint on a second coat for even coverage.
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Pull off masking tape. (Tip: For a guaranteed clean edge, slice along the tape edge with a craft knife.)
    16. Instruction #8
    17. Paint Turquoise Silk paint onto the Desert Turquoise "dipped" frame with a medium round brush. Apply two coats for even coverage, allowing to dry in between coats.
    18. Instruction #9
    19. Pull off the masking tape.
    20. Instruction #10
    21. For the Santa Red "dipped" frame, paint on Red Silk with a medium round brush. Allow to dry. Paint on a second coat for even coverage. Remove the masking tape. For the Brilliant Purple "dipped" frame, paint with two coats of Purple Silk; allow to dry; and remove the masking tape.
    22. Instruction #11
    23. With a piece of newspaper or newsprint, rub each frame's painted Silk surface. (This will buff the surface and bring out a beautiful golden shimmer.)
    24. Instruction #12
    25. Group the "dipped" frames together on a table or hang on a wall for a trendy décor accent.
